*Limbe I Council celebrates 8th African Civil Status Day with the legalisation of some Marriages and Distribution of over 400 Free Birth certificates*
The 14th edition of African Decentralization and Local Development and 8th African Civil Status Day was celebrated on Friday August 8, 2025 at the Limbe I Council hall.
The Day that is celebrated yearly on August 10, organised by Limbe I Council, took place at the council Banquet hall with theme ‘Building Resilient Communities through inclusive Decentralization and Advanced Development’
In her welcome speech, Limbe I Council Mayor , Mbwaye Florence Eposi mentioned the fact that Limbe I Council the town of friendship decided to celebrate the day by organising Mass Marriages, Distribution of Free Birth certificates and distributing of health equipment to hospitals.
Highlight of the celebration was the presentation on Sensitisation on Digitalization of Civil Status and Vital statistics from the South West Regional chief of Bunec, Mr Walters Ndzerem, Distribution of Free Birth certificates by mayor Mbwaye Eposi Florence, and Legalisation of Free Marriages.
The celebration witnessed the presence of the Assistant Divisional officer of Limbe i subdivision, first and second deputy mayors of Limbe I council, South West Regional chief of Bunec, Mr Walters Ndzerem, Family and love ones of the Couple amongst others.
