The Limbe I Council today the 9th of August 2024 together with their technical partner BUNEC organize the civil status open door day to showcase the various activities of the civil status office.
The 1st deputy Lord Mayor Motomby Henry advised the population on the importance of civil status documents such as Birth, Marriage and Death certificates. In his words ‘ Life starts with a birth certificate and ends with a Death certificate and you cannot be a registered human without a birth certificate ’
On the part of the regional chief of BUNEC southwest region Mr Walters assured the population of a fast, steady and free issuance of all civil status documents and even promise the population of the complete digitalization of the civil status office in the months which is a plus to the Limbe I Council.
Initially named Victoria, founded by Alfred Saker in 1858, the town was renamed in May 16, 1982, to “Limbe”, derived from the main river that flows through the town. The council is found in Bota quarters
